Project Complete

So awhile back I shared that I would be crocheting a blanket for Dessa and I thought I would share an update on that. I did actually manage to complete that blanket. Could have done a little better then I did but considering that it is the first blanket that I have ever crocheted I really can't complain. I do like the colors that I used on her blanket though. I cannot wait for her to arrive so that I can wrap her up in this new blanket. I also made a second blanket for her. This one I just made out of fleece and tied though. I love the fleece blanket. The fabrics we chose go great together. More then just having the feeling of accomplishment though I am actually proud of myself for sticking with it and finishing these projects. It is a very rewarding experience when you accomplish something you did not think you could for the first time. I wanted to share some pictures of the finished products. On the fleece one the solid color looks blue but it is actually purple. I do plan to work on more blankets so that I can make one for each one of my children, but I think I will take them slowly.

Wrapped together so you can see the colors against each other.

Aiden's First Day Of School

I know this post is a little delayed seeing as school started a month ago, but it seems fitting since I made more like two first days for myself. Anyone who really knows me knows that my whole world revolves around Aarron, Aiden, Ian, and Owen. Having Aiden start school was very hard for me. I was a complete wreck the night before and ended up crying again that morning. I felt like in a way I was losing part of Aiden since I knew that school would change his perspective some. I still miss him everyday he goes to school. My saving grace to this point is that instead of putting him on the bus we have been able to drive him to school and pick him up everyday. I enjoy every extra moment I have with him. We have since decided for many reasons that we will start putting him on the bus come the end of the month. That is where the second first day comes in for me. It bothers me that I will not be the one to walk him into class and to be who he sees first as he leaves the school. I honestly just pray at this point that Aiden will be safe and not face any problems at school. I am not sure what is going to happen when he ends up at school all day next year and Ian is in kindergarten. As for now I will just hope that Aiden continues to have fun at school and that he enjoys the bus. Here are a few pictures from the morning of his first day.
